Flowers add the romance, color, textures, fragrance and luxury to your wedding.
When setting your spending plan for your wedding it is so important to focus on 3-4 categories that are non-negotiable. You will spend more on those items because they are so important to you. For many of our clients, it’s flowers!
Every great florist has a personal style and then a repertoire of fabulous events they have designed. Be open to their ideas, spend time reviewing their photos and getting to know their capabilities.
If you want to create a Pinterest board that shows the flowers you like and the colors you want to use, that would be helpful. But don’t get hung up on a style or flowers that may not be in season. Share with the florist the colors and textures you love to get the conversation started.
Next consider your style; is the event going to be “rustic chic”, “country” “urban” “modern” or any other style that seems to fit your vision.
Your floral budget will need to be spread over three areas.
- The 1st area is the personal flowers which include bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages. Make a list of the number of each you may need, remembering Grandparents and other special Guests.
- The 2nd area is the ceremony site which may include floral on pews or chairs, a floral strewn path to the altar, and altar flowers or a decorative arches and decor.
- The 3rd area is the reception floral & décor. This would include table centerpieces, cake flowers, stage décor, entrance flowers or other items. This may even include flowers on your getaway vehicle.
As with all things you do for your wedding, hire professionals. If you are working with a professional wedding planner, they will offer suggestions of florists who they trust to be on time, provide gorgeous floral and work within your budget.
